STEP 24 - DIY LIP BALM

The winter months are hard on everyone’s skin, especially the lips. This tender area of the face is repeatedly exposed to cold, harsh air, and can become painfully chapped or cracked.

This DIY lip balm recipe helps prevent these problems, and it makes a great gift or stocking stuffer for anyone on your list!

• 1 tbsp. coconut oil

• 1 tbsp. beeswax

• 2 tbsp.shea butter

• 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

• 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• Lip balm containers or tubes

 

In a small pot over medium low heat, melt beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter. Remove from heat, and add Lavender and Peppermint oils. Whisk well to distribute oils throughout the mixture. Pour quickly into lip balm containers or tubes. Let cool on counter till hard.

TIP: Here are some alternative Essential Oil combinations to try in place of the Lavender/Peppermint duo:

• Spearmint and Wild Orange

• Lemon and Lime

• Bergamot and Spearmint
